Breakfast at Pepe's. Been there since 1909.

Turn around, Doug!

Sunday, new friends, Wytie and Sally, and their son Cam, who are docked next to us in Marathon, drove our van down to play with is for the day. Our first stop was to introduce them to Schooners Wharf.

Cam was a good sport at Irish Kevin;s.

Our friend, Bil, teaching him why the chicken crossed the road.

After crossing Duval, doing ten jumping jacks, coming back and high fiving everyone in the bar, he got his reward. A shot of whiskey. No shot glass needed. Great kid and a good sport.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

We arrived back in Marathon early in the afternoon on New Years Day, Washed the salt off September Song from our wet ride back, and joined in on the New Years Day dock party pot luck. We were sitting at the table eating when we heard some familiar voices from behind the bushes. OMG! OMG! It was our great friends Jay and Nancy. They tried to get here in time to be waiting at the dock to catch our lines, but we got back from Key West early, but it was still a great surprise, and they are going to be here until Sunday.
More about our play time in the next couple blogs.

What a huge surprise!

New Years Day dock party.

The table of wisdom fish with all our boat names on it.

It's so great to have them here!

Wednesday, we had our usual best ball tournament. The best part was that Jay joined us.

Jay didn't know if he was going to be able to do all 18, but the course let him use the only cart that the greens keepers use to do the back nine.

This was for a bird after his great drive to the green.

Steve and Kim came in on Maya, but not in time for golf, but they did make it for cocktail hour(s) at Cabana Breeze.

Time for a cigar, Kim. Welcome back. I'm so bad.

Smoking cigars with two beautiful ladies. What could be better!

Bahama Bums

Thursday night we had most of the Bahama Bums over on September Song for my famous lasagna. Well, Stephanie was great as usual, and did most of it while I put together a slide show of last winter in Marathon and our Bahamas trip. What a fun night with good friends and great memories.

Charlotte brought the most delicious key lime pie.

We ate it Bahama Bums style.

Bahama Bums style is everyone grabs a fork and digs in.

The other end Nancy.

A night at Salty's

A group of about twenty of us headed to Salty's  for music by our musician friend, Adrienne. She plays there every other Friday Night. Cruising friends, Steve and Polly, (CLAY LADY) who we haven't see in about four years, just got in and joined us. You never know when paths will cross on the water, but they usually do. Jay and Nancy were with us also, and Jay is still going strong. I think this trip down to Marathon has done him a world of good.

Key West and Peter Mayer

Eight of us, including you guessed it, Jay and Nancy. (We needed to play as much as possible during the short time they are here) headed down to Key West for a little play time at Schooners Wharf and a Peter Mayer Concert. Peter is Jimmy Buffet's lead guitarist and puts on a great show. It was extra special because our friend, Scott Kirby, played a set with him. Have I told you, "we love Key West".

Jay has been on a feeding tube for a while now and still is. This bowl of clam chowder is some of the first real food he has had. Leave it to Key West!
