Chestertown MD

Saturday morning we woke up to a very high tide because of the new moon phase. I had to wade to shore to take the girls out for their walk.
First stop, farmers market. I know, I know, not another farmers market. We bought our fresh veggie, local beef and pork, and of course another pie from some Mennonites. Lemon meringue, yum. Guess what we had for lunch? (pie)
All the towns on the Chesapeake are great for exploring and Chestertown is no exception. The town dates back to 1706 and was a port of entry along with being a prosperous shipbuilding and trading center. A little known fact is that when the people of the town heard about the Boston Tea Party, they boarded a ship in the harbor and dumped all the tea into the water.
After our pie lunch we followed the red brick sidewalks along broad shaded streets, through specialty shops, galleries, antique shops, eateries, 1700's homes and of course, the farmers market. Did I mention I love to go to the farmers markets. I sound like I work for the chamber of commerce. Another great stop.
Tomorrow we are headed to the Waterman's Crab House in Rock Hall MD. where we are going to dive into a bunch of steamed blue crab and a bucket of beer. If we have dinner there we get to dock at the waterman's docks free for the night. Free is good.
See you in Rock Hall
