Annapolis MD
Well we made it out of our slip, thanks to a hand from a couple dock hands, a bow thruster, and a good admiral. (Stephanie) The trip to Annapolis was great, with beautiful scenery, calm seas and breakfast on the fly bridge. The view of Annapolis as we came into the harbor was way cool. We arrived at the anchorage off the Severn River on Weems Creek about a mile outside town at 11:30, picked up our FREE Navy mooring ball. As you can see from the pictures, Weems Creek is absolutely gorgeous. Thunder storms are predicted for the afternoon and evening, so we decided to stay with the boat and go to the beach with the girls. Tomorrow we head for Annapolis in Half Note to explore.

A good day
Doing the town
Yesterday we did the town to the max including lunch at Justine's. We were bad! Lunch consisted of a shake called skippy which consisted of peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream. Found some great stores including bakeries, A barkery (goodies for the dogs) local art, and on and on. Been here, done that, and I did buy a t-shirt.
Today we are going to finish up the museum and then ride, or should I say bee bop around the historic district and check out all the historic homes. It's fun riding the quiet tree lined streets.
Tomorrow we cast off, try to fit a size 9 boat into a size 8 opening, and then head for Annapolis.

Hot, Hot, Hot
Saturday morning we headed to the farmers market and found great stuff. Sweet corn, breads and pastries, tomatos, and a boned leg of lamb. This is the first farmers market I have seen home grown meats. Steph marinated the lamb in EVOO, garlic and herbs, I grilled the lamb, Steph did the sweet corn in the microwave and we pigged out, or should I say lambed out at dinner. The lamb was tender and juicy and the corn was the sweetest I have had in a long time. It was really hot so we didn't do much exploring, just a couple hours then back to the boat to start the lamb.
Today it's still hot, so we took advantage of the time and cleaned the entire inside of September Song. She is so happy when she is cleaned. This afternoon we did some of the Maritime Museum. It was interesting seeing all the boats and the history of the Chesapeake. After the museum we took Bee and Bop to the grocery store and did some provisioning, then back to the boat for pizza and of course, ice cream.
Tomorrow we are planning on exploring more of the town.

St. Michaels, MD
The Waterman in the picture was fishing on our stern Friday morning for blue crabs in a different way than I have seen before. He has a long line with bait every couple feet, the crabs hang onto the bait as it comes up on a roller you see on his port stern, he nets them and puts them into his baskets. (neat)
We weighed the anchor Friday mid AM and headed for St. Michael's, our next stop. We saw a couple cool boats on our trip I thought you might like to see. We arrived at St. Michael's harbor at our next marina, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum Marina mid afternoon and found our slip not the easiest to get into. We had to maneuver between pilings about 20 foot apart and 20 foot off the bulkhead at the same time turn September Song against the bulkhead. Oh, did I mention our spot is only about 65 foot (September Song is 60 foot including the swim platform) with a very expensive antique Museum boat on our bow. Thank goodness for a bow thruster, twin engines and a great crew. (Stephanie is great)
We took a quick look at the town last night, had dinner, and found the ice cream parlor. (YUM)
Time to get out Bee and Bop, (the bikes) thanks Patti, and Bee Bop to the farmers market, then go exploring.
