Staniel Cay rendezvous and Club Thunderball

4-28-09 We left the Land and Sea Park Tuesday morning with Gypsies in the Palace after putting the repaired motor mount (250.00 for a three-inch weld)back in. Long story which I won't bore you with, just know that when you need a repair in paradise, it takes a lot of help from the boating communityand Island people (on Island time), and you are at their mercy as to what it will cost. We joined the rest of the group at Big Major Spot,7 boats and 16 fellow cruisers, (Jim and Pam Shipp on Silver Boots were already here) and promptly puttogether a mini DeFever rendezvous at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Yacht Clubs are not like the yacht clubs you think of in the states. They are very funky and very casual, very very casual, and fun, fun, fun. After the party at Staniel Yacht Club we decided to take the party to Cafe Thunderball. Happy hour from 16:00 TO 20:00, all the pizza, pasta, and salad you could eat for 15.00. A call was made and they opened up early for us. Cafe Thunderball, not really acafe, but another funky bar and grill, is on top of a hill overlooking Thunderball Cave. Thunderball Cave is where the James Bond movie Thunderball was filmed. We will be diving the cave some time this week and I will take you there. Time to sign off, we are headed to Staniel to check it out and hopefully send the blogs.
September Song (Bond, James Bond) out
