One place we wanted to make sure we went to, was the new World Trade Center, and the 9/11 Memorial.

The Memorial South Pool, where the South tower stood.

The names of the victims are inscribed  on the parapets around the pools.
May we never forget.

This is the survivor tree. It was planted on the original Trade Center plaza in the 70's. It was reduced to an eight foot stump in the attack. It was nursed back to health in a NYC park, and grew to 30 feet. In March of 2010, it was uprooted by a storm, but true to its name, it survived, and was planted at the 9/11 memorial in December 2010. Great story!
